SRC Out of Uniform Fundraiser - Theme is Green

Last day of Term One

The P & C Term One Disco will be held this Thursday evening and promises to be a fun filled evening for our students

  • Kinder - Year 2  -  4:45 pm - 6:00 pm
  • Years 3-6  -  6:30pm - 8:00 pm

How to buy tickets -

What to wear - Students may attend the disco out of school uniform, avoiding items that are immodest or with inappropriate slogans, language or images. All students must wear appropriate closed in footwear (no thongs). Students are not permitted to wear tops that leave their midriff area bare.

Canteen - The Canteen will not be operating for purchase of drinks or snacks during the disco.

All students will receive a sausage sizzle and juice as they leave the disco.  Students are encouraged to bring their own water bottle clearly labelled with their name.

We ask all parents and carers not to arrive more than 10 minutes before the starting time for each disco and to please leave the school grounds after your child has been dropped off. Because responsibility for supervision lies with the school, younger or older siblings are unable to attend the disco, this event is just for students from our school.

Collection of students - At the conclusion of each disco, the DJ with the support of the teachers, will have students collect their drink bottles then sit on the floor of the hall. Parents will enter through the door closest to the grass side of the Cola. Students will be instructed to stand and meet their parents at the rear of the hall once they have spotted them. Parents and their children should then exit from the hall via the doors located closest to the canteen (Door B). If you have arranged for a friend or relative to collect your child from the disco, please provide a note to the supervising teachers at the disco stating the name and relationship of the person collecting your child

Please note: that the disco is ONLY for students attending our school, younger or older siblings are not permitted to attend.

Can you please help - The P&C are after volunteers for the evening. Please sign up using the link below. We promise you'll have a great time watching our kids dance up a storm!

Thanks again to our P&C for organising and coordinating the event – it should be a fun night for the students and a big thanks to The Craft Butcher, Elder Street Lambton for sponsoring our event with your delicious sausages!

Opportunity Class Placement - Year 5 2025

Applications open 4 April and close 20 May 2024 for Opportunity Class Placemen Year 5 2025.

What are opportunity classes?

Opportunity classes are one of the ways the NSW Department of Education supports high potential and gifted students. The classes help students learn by:

  • grouping them with other gifted students
  • using specialised teaching methods so students can learn concepts in more detail
  • supporting their wellbeing needs.

Most students in opportunity classes enjoy learning with peers who have similar abilities and interests.

Where are they located?

There are 86 primary schools with opportunity classes in NSW each year.

The nearest Opportunity Classes to Lambton Public School include New Lambton South PS, Tighes Hill PS & Maryland PS.

Students successfully placed attend the opportunity class full time in Years 5 and 6 and in most cases, students who have accepted a place in an opportunity class will leave their current school to attend the school with the opportunity class.

Should you apply?

If your child learns with greater ease and speed than their classmates, they may benefit from placement in an opportunity class. High potential and gifted children need to be challenged so they remain engaged with their education. Discuss the opportunity with your child and look through the information together on Opportunity classes – Year 5.

Shout out to Mrs Hussain

Our very own Mrs Hussain, (School Counsellor) together with 24 other cyclists pedalled 370 klms from Newcastle to Bathurst last week to raise funds for a unique program with fellow Merewether Carlton Rugby Club parents.  The clubs Welfare and Wellbeing Working Group has implemented a unique program that supports its' junior and senior players, coaches and managers to access psychological services.

The group raised $80,000 for the unique program which is a ground-breaking initiative for a local rugby club and a first for the Hunter.

Well done Mrs Hussain, LPS are very proud of your achievements.
