From the Principal

Dear Jamberoo Public School Community,

This will be the last newsletter for 2023. As the school year winds down, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support. Wishing you and your family a holiday season filled with warmth, joy, and cherished moments. May this break be a time of rest, connection, and laughter. Above all, here's to a safe and happy holiday for you and your loved ones.

Principal Role 2024

As you all know, our Principal, Chris Speirs, has been working for the Department as a Staff Wellbeing Advisor during the second half of Term Four. In 2024, Chris will continue to work for the Department’s wellbeing sector but will be moving to the Safeguarding Kids Together team which supports schools and students across NSW. This role will be for Terms One and Two of next year.

With Chris taking on this new role, we understand the importance of maintaining continuity in the leadership of our school. Therefore, the school’s Director, Mr Bill Field, has initiated the process to appoint a relieving principal to ensure the seamless operation of daily activities and uphold the high standards we have set for our students.

The appointment will be made through an expression of interest, providing an opportunity for a dedicated and qualified leader to step into this temporary position.

The school appreciates your ongoing support and commitment to the success and wellbeing of our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to contact the school.

PEAK

With the festive season fast approaching we thought it would be a wonderful idea to instill in the children the importance and value of giving to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. This year we have decided to donate to the Wollongong Homeless Hub and Housing Service. We would appreciate any donations in the  hope that we would be able to make life just a bit easier for someone these holidays. Below is a link to their donations list. Please feel free to pop in to Peak at any time to drop off your donations.

Stage 3 - Jamberoo Action Park

A tidal wave of joy swept through Stage 3 students as they embarked on an unforgettable day of laughter, camaraderie, and aquatic adventures at Jamberoo Action Park. From the moment they stepped through the gates, the excitement was palpable, setting the stage for a day of carefree enjoyment.

Thrill-seeking students (and Mrs Behl Shanks) eagerly raced each other to the top of towering water slides, conquering the twists and turns with exhilarating screams echoing through the park. The daring feats on the Funnel Web and the Octo Racer became legendary tales among the students, bonding them through shared moments of excitement and adrenaline.

Fun Day

Jamberoo students will be heading off to Hoyts at Warrawong to enjoy 'Wonka' on Thursday 14th December. This will be followed by an action packed Mini-Olympics, to be held back at school. A reminder to all Jamberoo families that the school covers all costs associated with Fun Day.

A permission note for parents/carers has been sent home via School Bytes. Please complete the permission form as soon as possible so we have a clear indication of the number of students who will be attending Fun Day.

2024 Enrolments

If you, or anyone else you know, is planning on enrolling a child at Jamberoo Public School next year please get in contact with the school at your earliest convenience to organise enrolment forms.

Alternatively, if you know that in 2024 you will be relocating from Jamberoo and your child/children will not be enrolling at the school it is very important that you make this known to us, so we have an accurate picture of student numbers for next year. Your cooperation and communication in this matter are very much appreciated.

Regards,

Mrs Samantha Galea
