The past two weeks at our school have been filled with exciting and enriching activities celebrating learning, creativity, and community spirit. Congratulations to our select Stage 3 students who participated in the STEAM Challenge at JJ Cahill Memorial High School and were proudly recognised at their awards night for their outstanding contributions.
We are thrilled to have launched the Will Way Inclusive Sports Program with our 6-2MC students enthusiastically involved, this wonderful initiative fosters inclusivity and teamwork, and we feel very fortunate to be part of it.
Earlier this week, a professional photographer visited our classrooms and playground to capture moments for a Department of Education campaign promoting public schools, highlighting the vibrant life of our school community.
Our second Cakes and Cookies stall was a huge success thanks to the efforts of our generous students. Special thanks to Dawood, Isla, and Caius from 3K for helping with sales, and to classes KA and 3K for providing the delicious treats. The next Cakes and Cookies stall will be in Week 10, 6-2MC and school staff will be providing the treats.
Our Dance Sport students are busily preparing for their big performance at Homebush next Tuesday evening; they’re looking fantastic and ready to shine at the finals.
This week marks National Science Week, with the theme being Seeds of Science: nurturing science for all. Our students have explored curiosity, inquiry and shared learning in scientific understanding through exciting experiments, interactive sessions with Dr Karl, and insightful questions. Stage 3 enjoyed an excursion to Urban Green in Barangaroo, a fantastic free experience that enriched their understanding of farming plants and sustainability.
We also observed Bullying No Way Week of Action with daily themes reminding us all that: small words and actions matter, kindness impacts even the tiniest moments, each of us has the power to make things better, and together our actions create big change. Watch these short videos with your children and talk about the messages:
Looking ahead, we are excited about Book Week! Join us Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:00am for the P&C Second Hand Book Stall, and celebrate with us at the Book Week Parade on Wednesday 26 August at 9:15am in the amphitheatre. Students (and parents) are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book characters and share in the fun. Then on Thursday 27 August, we are fortunate to host Rocksteady Music for another free music incursion.
Thank you for your ongoing support in making our school a great place for learning and growth.
