The 2025 Faction Cross Country Carnival was a fantastic day of competition, camaraderie, and determination for students from Pre-Primary to Year 6. Thankfully, the rain stayed away, allowing every event to run smoothly and the students to shine across the course! Thank you to all of the staff and parent helpers who stepped in to make the day happen in my absence, and for the regular updates to make me feel like I wasn’t missing out.
With Running club being very well supported by the students, with over 50 students regularly attending, it was clear that the extra training and regular morning fitness practices has paid off. The dedication shown in the lead-up translated into strong performances and impressive endurance by all participants.
Scores were incredibly close, highlighting just how evenly matched and competitive the factions were this year. In the end, St Joseph’s claimed victory with 365 points, followed closely by Salvatorians on 342, and Mackillop with 317 points. Congratulations to all three factions for their outstanding performances and team spirit.
The event featured some thrillingly close races and exceptional individual efforts that had the crowd on the edge of their seats. Whether crossing the finish line first or showing perseverance to complete the course, each runner contributed to a day that truly celebrated resilience, determination, and school pride.
Congratulations to our individual placegetter.

A big thank you goes to all staff, parent volunteers, and supporters who helped make the day a success — and to every student who ran their heart out for their team. Also, a big thankyou to the P & F for supplying our running club participants with warm milo and toast each week, it was certainly a highlight for the students!
Well done everyone and best of luck to the 18 students heading to Bruce Rock next week to compete in the Interschool Cross Country. Go Saints!!!
