Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to our last Newsletter for Term 2. I can’t believe how quickly this term has flown past. Our students have worked extremely hard this term and have achieved some amazing results. Our staff have again, gone above and beyond in supporting our students to be the very best that they can be.
Thank you to our students, staff and parent/carers for all the support you have given to our school this term, to really set our students up for success. Please take care over the school holidays and enjoy some quality time with your families.
Looking forward to seeing you all back in Term 3 on Monday 13th July, 2026.

All families are encouraged to take this opportunity to talk with your child’s teacher about their learning and how they are progressing. Specialist teachers will also be available for interviews. Cleaner’s and Grounds Officer’s Day
We celebrated World Cleaners and School’s Officer Day last Monday. A big thank you to our wonderful cleaners and Rob, our School’s Officer for going above and beyond every day to make our school beautiful! We really appreciate your hard work and would be lost without you as part of our staff!
NAPLAN
2026 NAPLAN results were sent out to schools this week. I am very pleased with our results. We have had significant growth in Yr3 Reading and Year 5 results were stable. The relative gain is significant looking at Yr 5 in 2026, and how they performed when in Yr 3 in 2024.
Congratulations to everyone on these pleasing results. Keeping in mind that these results are also due to the great work our teachers in the lower school are doing to set strong learning foundations, and our intervention and inclusion teachers/TAs.
School Supervisor Visit
Martin Leach, our School Supervisor visited our school last week. His exact words were, “My heart is full seeing the great work and progress in your school”.
He commented on Learning walls which display reading and writing marking guides, were co-constructed, and displayed curriculum, teaching and learning. He said the walls are very helpful for students and would be for relief teachers as well. He said that the summative assessment tasks displayed in rooms were very impressive.
He also mentioned that reciprocity of teaching reading and writing was very evident across every room visited, which was great to see.
He said that teacher monitoring of the student work was consistent in all classrooms visited, and all work aligned to the English unit.
Thank you to all our teachers for your dedication and hard work! I couldn’t be prouder!
P&C Working Bee
Thankyou to our P&C, Parent volunteers and students who stayed behind after school last Monday to help cleanup and beautify our gardens at the front of the school and around the Hall. I really appreciate your time and commitment to our school.
Prep Play & Stay
Thank you to Mrs Philpot who hosted our Prep Stay & Play last Tuesday. This was a wonderful opportunity for 2027 Prep students and their parent/carers to experience what it’s like to be a Prep student in the classroom with our current Prep students.
Cluster Moderation
We hosted Cluster Moderation for Beerwah SS, Landsborough SS and Beerburrum SS last week. This was such a valuable exercise to give and receive feedback from other schools and to see what other school’s are doing and how their assessments and processes differ from ours. Thank you to all our teachers for their participation. A big thanks to Mr Deady and Ms Turner for organising the event.
Athletics Carnival
What a wonderful Athletics Carnival we had last week! Thank you so much to Ms Murphy for organising this event and thank you to all staff for their hard work throughout the day. Our students had a great day competing and cheering each other on! Thank you also to our P&C who tirelessly ran the BBQ all day, providing amazing food for our students, staff and parents/carers.
Beerwah’s Got Talent
The Finalist Showcase for Beerwah’s Got Talent was held in the Hall on Tuesday this week!
What a wonderful experience for our students, showcasing their talents up on stage. Thank you so much to Ms Maxwell for organising this event. Our students have been so excited to be a part of this over the past several weeks.
Open Classrooms
Thank you to all parents/carers who attended our Open Classrooms on Wednesday. This was a great opportunity for Parents/Carers to see firsthand, what their child has been learning throughout the term and to celebrate their achievements.
Kandoo Rewards Afternoon
Congratulations to all our students for reaching our Kandoo target of 38,000 Kandoos by the end of Term 2. We held a Kandoo rewards afternoon in Week 10 for all classes for reaching this target. It is wonderful to be able to reward students for consistent good behaviour!
Staffing Update
Mr Deady will be taking 12 months leave, starting at the beginning of Term 3. I would like to thank Mr Deady for his hard work and dedication to our staff and students. I am delighted to let you know that Ms Turner will be our Head of Department - Curriculum for the next 12 months working 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday.
Have a wonderful break!
