As we reach the end of the school year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the incredible community spirit that makes Reynella Primary School so special. This year, that spirit has been evident in so many ways. From the energy and enthusiasm of our students, families, and staff during the Run4Fun fundraiser, to the shared pride and participation at our Sports Day, and the sense of connection and joy at our End of Year Concert, it’s clear that our school thrives on the support of our community. Thank you for everything you do to make our school such a vibrant and welcoming place.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff for their hard work and commitment to supporting our students’ growth and learning throughout the year. A special mention must go to Shirley Gardner, who is retiring after an extraordinary 50 years of teaching in the department, including over 30 years at Reynella Primary School. Shirley has been a cornerstone of our school community, and her wisdom, kindness, modesty and unwavering dedication will be deeply missed. We wish Shirley all the very best in her well-earned retirement.
Sadly, we are also saying goodbye to Cameron Parsons, who is leaving us at the end of the year to take up a position at Annesley College. Cameron has been a valued member of our teaching team, and while we are sorry to see him go, we know he will bring his passion for education to his new role. We wish him every success for the future.
I would also like to acknowledge Ben Warne for his exceptional work in B6 during Terms 3 and 4 this year. His efforts in bringing about and maintaining routine and stability for the students have been invaluable and cannot be underestimated. Thank you, Ben, for your dedication and care during this important time.
A special congratulations and farewell to our graduating Year 6 students! You have grown into confident and capable individuals ready to embrace the exciting opportunities ahead. We are so proud of you and wish you all the very best as you transition to high school. Remember, you will always be a part of the Reynella family.
As the holiday season approaches, I encourage everyone to take time to relax, recharge, and enjoy precious moments with loved ones. Please stay safe and well, and we look forward to seeing you again in the new year.
A few reminders as we close out the term:
- Class placement letters will be distributed this Thursday.
- Student reports will be available via the Report It portal from 3:30pm Thursday afternoon.
- Festive Dress-Up Day is also on Thursday! Let’s bring some extra joy and cheer to the end of the year by wearing our brightest and happiest festive clothing.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support and partnership throughout the year. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a happy new year!
Kind regards,
Chris Tippett
