2024 Proposed Materials and Services Charges (school fees)

Every year we need to notify parents about what the next year’s Materials and Services Charges (school fees) will be. Further down in this newsletter you will find the explanation letter and a breakdown of the proposed 2024 Materials and Services Charges (school fees).

Our proposed charge for 2024 will be $287 per child. This will be discussed at the October 31st Governing Council meeting.

Michael Hosking

Please find attached a Watermarked copy of the Notice of Materials and Services Charges for 2024. This notice has been verified by the Chief Executive of the Department for Education through Site Financial Resources.

Every endeavour has been made to keep our charges as low as possible. Burton's Materials and Services Charges (School Fee's) are set at the state-wide minimum level of $287.

If you have any questions about Materials and Services Charges, we invite members of our school community to attend the Governing Council meeting at which the charge is to be approved.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 31st October at 6.00pm at Burton School, in the staffroom.

If you have any questions about these charges that you would like answered prior to the meeting please contact Michael Hosking on 82806277.

Instead of attending at the meeting, parents can express their concerns by writing to the chairperson of Burton School Governing Council, Cara Bristow.

School Fun Run - Crazy color day - Friday October 20th

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We will be holding the School Fun Run’s Crazy Colour Day as a major fundraising event this year on Friday October 20! We’re doing it to raise much needed money for NEW SAPSASA TOPS AND FUNDS TOWARDS UPGRADING OUR FRONT OFFICE GATES.

About the Day

The Crazy Colour Day is all about Fun! It will be a huge colourful mess and is undoubtably one of the most exciting days on our school’s calendar, with everyone’s participation the aim, so please make sure they attend on the day and cheer the other kids on!

How Does My Child Fundraise?

Firstly, go to schoolfunrun.com.au and create a student profile page. Everything to do with your fundraising revolves around this page.

Students who raise just $10 will be able to choose a prize! The more they raise, the better their reward – don’t forget to check these out in the sponsorship form! We have educated students on the dangers of door knocking without supervision, and we encourage you to reiterate this at home. The great thing about online fundraising is that you can share the link to your child’s profile with friends and family via email, SMS and Social Media.

Online Fundraising

The easiest way to help your child raise money is through online fundraising, where students raise an average of $120. On top of raising more money, it’s also safer and easier than door knocking and you don’t have to worry about handling money! To start fundraising online, go to your student profile page at schoolfunrun.com.au and share your online fundraising link.

Competition Time

To get our event off to a flyer, we’re starting our Colour Day with a super easy competition! The class with the most online profiles registered by Tuesday September 12th will win ICE BLOCKS FOR THE CLASS!  To help your child’s class win, simply create your profile at schoolfunrun.com.au.

Getting Involved

Not only can you support the school and students with your sponsorship – but you can join in on the fun! We would love to welcome parents and family members to attend the Crazy Colour Day. If you would like to volunteer on the day, please contact me on the details below.  I can’t wait to see you at our event!

Ordering Prizes – ALL PRIZES MUST BE ORDERED ONLINE

Please contact your school’s coordinator if this isn’t possible.

Prizes MUST be ordered between the Tuesday October 10th and Wednesday October 25th. Simply visit schoolfunrun.com.au to create / log into your Profile Page between these dates.  Then click on the ‘CLAIM YOUR PRIZE’ button and follow the prompts. If you have any questions, please contact the School Fun Run team on 1800 FUN RUN and they will gladly assist!
