Message from the Principal

Welcome to 2026! I extend a warm welcome to all our new families, students, and teachers joining us this year. We are especially delighted to introduce our new Deputy Principal, Mr Stephen Sowter, whose experience and leadership will be a tremendous asset to our school.

Important Reminder Parents are kindly reminded that school fees must be paid before the end of Week Three of this term. Timely payment ensures that we can continue to provide the highest quality education and opportunities for all our students.

Success Starts Here This year, we proudly launch our school hashtag: #SuccessStartsHere. It reflects our belief that every achievement begins with the strong foundation built at Lae International School. We encourage our community to use this hashtag to share and celebrate milestones, both big and small.

Celebrating Our Graduates We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding tertiary placements achieved by our 2025 Year 12 graduates. Many of our students have secured places at universities both here in Papua New Guinea and abroad, a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the support of our teachers and families. Their success inspires our current students to aim high and pursue their dreams. Check out our Facebook page to see where our former students are headed.

IEA 50th Anniversary This year marks a very special milestone—the 50th Anniversary of the International Education Agency (IEA). As proud members of the IEA family, we look forward to celebrating this golden jubilee together, reflecting on five decades of excellence in education and looking ahead to an even brighter future.

As we embark on this exciting year, let us continue to work together to nurture curiosity, resilience, and achievement in every child. With the support of our dedicated staff and engaged families, I am confident that 2026 will be a year of growth, success, and celebration.

Success Starts Here!

I want to extend my sincere thanks to students, staff, and families for the warm welcome I have received. From my first day, it has been clear that Lae International School is a truly exceptional place. One that offers outstanding educational opportunities and is deeply committed to the growth and wellbeing of every learner.

I am excited to be part of such a fantastic school and look forward to working alongside our dedicated community to continue delivering holistic educational outcomes.
