Newsletter Term 1 Week 3

Principals report

Welcome to Week 3 Term 1.

We have had a busy week.

Tuesday 11th February was Safer Internet Daywhich raises awareness of digital safety and encourages school communities to make the best use of online technology.

With cyber crime on the rise in Australia, online safety education for all ages is more important than ever.

The message for Safer Internet Day is, let’s make sure we know the role we each play – whether that’s teaching our students about cyber safety, keeping our data safe, or contributing to a safe online environment.

FYI: Visit Cybermarvel for Safer Internet Day  parent webinars.

Refer to cyber safety for tips on uplifting your cyber hygiene and protecting yourself from email phishing and online scams.

Wednesday 12th February we held our Leaders Induction Assembly where our 2025 Leadership team received their badges. This is always a very special and proud day for our school.

We also took this opportunity for Year 6 to give the Kindergarten Buddy’s their Buddy Bear.

Thursday 13th February was our Zig Zag Swimming Carnival – our Zig Zag students were absolutely wonderful which made our carnival a pleasure to run.

Thursday 13th February was the P & C’s AGM Meeting. Congratulations and thank you to our committee for 2025.

Our 2025 School Leadership Team

Our student leaders pledged to lead with integrity, care and Zig Zag school spirit.

In our special tradition, their families presented them with their leadership badges—a reminder that leadership is not just about responsibility but also the support that surrounds them.

We can’t wait to see them shine!

Mary-Anne Steele, Elijah Hatte, Bonnie Richardson, Amelia Keath, Toby Leonard, Michael Rea.

Welcome to Zig Zag Kindergarten

Welcome to big school Kindergarten! We’re so happy to have you at Zig Zag.

Buddy Bears

Our Year 6 Big Buddies presented their Kindergarten Little Buddies with a special gift—Buddy Bear!

More than just a cuddly friend, Buddy Bear is a reminder of kindness, respect and looking out for each other. With big buddies by their side, our Kinders are off to a great start!

Buddy Bears are a part of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

Swimming Carnival

Well done to our clever and determined 50m swimmers!

Our whole school loved cheering you on!

We feel so proud of our students giving their best in the pool!

From swimming 25m in different strokes to having fun with friends in Novelty Races!

Can you spot races with pool noodles, kickboards, eggs + spoons, balancing, balls and even rubber chickens?!

So much happiness in the splash pool with class mates.

Our Primary students loved working in teams to collect water in sponges to race filling their bucket with more water than the other teams … look at all those grinning faces

Thank You

A big THANK YOU to Nana's Touch Community Connections for their generous donations of backpacks and school supplies for students in need at Zig Zag Public School

Your generosity is very much appreciated.
