Disco

It was wonderful to see so many children attend last Friday Nights Disco. Well done to our group of hard-working P&F members who made it such an exciting night.

staff, parents, caregivers, visitors or contractors and will also apply when students and staff are participating in school activities offsite.”

Class News

Kindy

What another amazing term we have had in Kindy.

We started our term off exploring all things construction. We absolutely loved doing some creative activities around construction, lots of building with different materials and looking at all the machines involved in constructing things.

We were also very excited to invite our dads in for Father’s Day celebrations. It was very exciting doing a range of minute-to-win-it activities with them. Some of our Kindy dads were very competitive!

In numeracy we have been working hard on learning addition. We have been doing lots of hands-on activities to consolidate our learning.

We have explored positional language. We walked around the school and found ways to demonstrate different prepositions, including between, on, around, in, under.

We have been very excited to build on our knowledge of capacity. We know that capacity is the amount a container can hold. We have done lots of measuring where we can demonstrate containers that are empty, nearly empty, half full, nearly full and full.

This week we have explored time, and the duration that different activities take. We have been sorting activities into different groups depending on the duration that they take. We have done some amazing drawings highlighting our understanding of long and short activities.

We look forward to another fun filled term of learning after a well-deserved holiday!

Special Events

St Mary's School Disco

What a fantastic night we had at the St Mary’s School Disco last Friday! It was the first time the P&F have organised an event like this, and whilst there were a few things we have learnt for next time, it was still a great success!

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, along with a number of new families joining us for the evening in our magnificently decorated St Joseph's Hall.

The kids danced, laughed and had a wonderful time, and it was so lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves and catching up.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the night such a success. Thank you in particular to Gemma D, Kristy S and Jess R for organising the disco, Tnaya W, Tessa C, Katie C and Kate C for your help on the night and Sophie C and Jayden C for allowing us to use your equipment.

Events like these are a great opportunity to connect, welcome new families and build our wonderful St Mary’s community.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind parents that there are lots of opportunities to get involved with the P&F. Whether it's helping at an event, sharing an idea or simply attending our Monday night meetings (only twice a term), every contribution makes a difference to your child's education and experience at St Mary's.
