We all can’t believe that we are moving into week 6 already!
As we approach NAPLAN for our year 3 and 5 students, we want to reassure you that at CPS, we take a mindful and supportive approach to this assessment. We view NAPLAN as a non-event for our students, and our focus is always on their well-being and reducing unnecessary stress. We encourage you to avoid placing any pressure on your child regarding NAPLAN. It's important that they understand it is just another part of their learning journey and does not define their abilities or future success. Our goal is to help students approach the test with confidence and a calm mindset, without feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
By creating a low-stress environment, we aim to foster a positive experience where every child feels supported. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you for your continued support in ensuring our students’ health and happiness throughout this time.
The Department fully supports the Minister of Education's direction on 'Standing together against violence' statement and the 'Connect and Respect' initiative. These frameworks have been created to support schools and communities in having clear, shared expectations and responsibilities to ensure safe learning in our schools. I encourage you to read the documents and please contact me if you would like clarification on any points. At CPS our whole school community is commended for the excellent respect and values we uphold, ensuring we can all operate in a safe environment.
We’re excited to let you know that our new website is currently in the works and should be up and running in the next few weeks! While we’re in the process of making the transition, we do apologise if some of the information you find is not fully up to date. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we make improvements.
In other news, our wonderful P & C have their AGM coming up next Monday, 16 March, at 7 pm in the school library. They are still seeking nominations for various roles, including the position of President. It’s so important that all Executive roles are filled, as our Canteen, Uniform Shop, DUCKs, and many of our school events rely on the support of these dedicated volunteers. The P & C plays a vital role in fostering the incredible community spirit we’re so proud of at CPS. We encourage all parents and carers to consider getting involved. Whether you have a lot of time to give or just a little, your contribution will make a real difference! Looking forward to seeing you at the AGM and thank you for your continued support of our amazing school community.
Our amazing DUCK’s have a ride around Herdsman Lake at 2pm on Sunday 16 March. This is always a great opportunity for the dads and kids to get together and have some fun! If you are interested please register your interest through https://www.trybooking.com/CZUQX
Registrations will close on Saturday 15 March at 5 pm.
