Welcome Back

Welcome back to Term 2! I hope all of our RPS families had a wonderful and relaxing break. This term many exciting experiences have been planned such as the Premier’s Spelling Bee, Multicultural Public Speaking Competition, cross country carnival, Winter PSSA competition, free Netball NSW clinic and a variety of incursions and excursions for each stage group.

Welcome back to Term 2! I hope all our RPS families had a wonderful and rejuvenating break. It’s great to see everyone returning with fresh energy and enthusiasm for the new term ahead.

We have an exciting lineup of experiences planned for our students this term that promises to engage and inspire them. Among the highlights are the Premier’s Spelling Bee and the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition, which will provide our students with opportunities to showcase their talents and build confidence in their communication skills.

Additionally, our Cross Country Carnival is just around the corner, encouraging physical fitness and sportsmanship among students. The Winter PSSA competition will also kick off this term, allowing our students to participate in various sports and represent our school with pride.

Thank You to our Volunteers

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible P&C, parent and student leader volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to set up and organise the Mother’s Day Stall. Your hard work and creativity ensured that our students had a wonderful experience selecting thoughtful gifts for the special women in their lives. The success of this event is a testament to your commitment to our school community, and we truly appreciate your support in making it a memorable occasion for everyone involved.

Additionally, I want to express my gratitude for the fantastic job our P&C, staff, parent and student volunteers did with the Election Day BBQ and Cake Stall. Your enthusiasm and teamwork made this event not only a delicious treat for our community but also a great opportunity for families to come together. The funds raised will greatly benefit our school, and we are thankful for your contributions and the positive spirit you brought to the day.

Thank you once again for your invaluable support and dedication. We are fortunate to have such a caring and involved group of parents at our school.

School Development Days

Our school joined all other public schools across NSW to deliver professional learning focused on the implementation of High Potential and Gifted Education. School development days are used by schools to build on the knowledge and skills of our teachers, school leaders and school administrative support staff through a targeted professional learning program. Our day focused on the HPGE policy, opportunities that the school can provide for our students in class and within the network . Thank you to Mrs Ranna,  and Mrs Townsend for presenting and leading their sessions.

New Director Educational Leadership Carlingford Network

David Leydon has held the position of Director Educational Leadership for the Carlingford Network for the past seven years, during which he has overseen the operations and educational initiatives of 20 schools within the network. His leadership has fostered a collaborative environment, helping to enhance educational outcomes for both students and teachers. At the end of the last term, David made the decision to retire, marking the conclusion of his impactful career in this role. I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for everything he has done during his time in leadership.

Following David’s retirement, we are pleased to welcome Daniel Hurd as the new Director Educational Leadership for the Carlingford Network. Daniel previously served as the Director of the Mudgee Network, where he made notable contributions to educational leadership and community engagement. We are excited about his appointment and look forward to collaborating with him. Welcome to the Carlingford Network, Daniel—we are eager to work together in supporting our school and enhancing educational experiences for all students.

Have a wonderful week!

The Principal will then offer enrolment in the following order:

  • children living within the school's catchment area

Introducing Sport Wren Tokens!

We are excited to introduce a NEW token called Sport Wrens! These tokens are awarded to students for being a good sport during school activities. Once a student earns a Sport Wren token, they can place it in one of the three coloured boxes located near the K–2 silver seats.

Each box matches the colour of a house:

  • Blaxland House → Blue box

  • Macarthur House → Yellow box

  • Schaeffer House → Red box

Each house (Blaxland – Blue, Macarthur – Yellow, and Schaeffer – Red) is working together to collect 500 sport wren tokens. The first house to reach 500 sport wrens will win a Mufti Day! A fun day where everyone in that house can come to school dressed in mufti (casual clothes)!

We’re excited to see how the houses compete to earn their tokens and enjoy the rewards together.
